Daily Lesson Plan with IEP Goals
This lesson plan was used during my student teaching in a self-contained preschool classroom. Each area of the day is taught specifically for the children who were to attend that day. Then the exact objectives that were being focused on were listed. All the adults in the room had access to this lesson and were encouraged to review prior to the beginning of the day. The adaptations were arranged prior to the start of the day so every activity was prepared and organized. Even bathroom and snack times are considered learning times and adaptations needed to be made for those times as well. Also, the schedule when I began in this classroom included a short “music time” at the end of the day. Instead, I implemented a yoga time that was used to help calm and prepare the students for the transition back home on the bus. This was a successful activity that the children enjoyed and was also incorporated more into their motor time with the physical therapist.
